WE GET RESULTS!Kids love it! Parents love it! Teachers love it! CALL US TODAY - It's never too late to start! The Programme specialises in Reading at Primary and Intermediate School Levels and follows the NZ School Curriculum.
Following an introductory free assessment, a programme is specifically designed for each individual’s need. As our programme is peronalised to each student, we accept bookings continuously. This means no waiting until next term and your child will benefit of starting tutoring straight away.
The programme is an audio-assisted programme, using books with meaningful text and on a variety of topics – both fiction and non-fiction.
The books are accompanied by activities that have been specifically designed to meet the needs of struggling and reluctant readers; with activities to develop reading fluency, reading comprehension, oral language, vocabulary and writing skills. Sessions are 1 hour and operate after school hours, Monday to Wednesday at Rototuna, and 50 minute sessions on Thursday at Hillcrest location. Sessions operate during the school term, and block courses are available during the school holidays. Tutor / Student Ratio With a guarantee of no more than 3 pupils per tutor, as a parent you can be assured your child is getting the individual attention they require to improve.
Your child will bring home their home contact book after each session so you will be able to see the work they have been doing and how they are progressing, and read along with them or join in an associated game.
All our tutors are chosen because they relate well to younger students. They are able to create a positive and stimulating learning environment which encourages all students to want to succeed. English As A Second Language - For Children and Adults
The programme is ideal for students learning English as they are immersed in the English language when they use the audio CD and the book.
In the beginning texts, especially vocabulary is repeated throughout the bookds and activities. This increases the likelihood that this vocabulary will quickly become part of their functional vocabulary.
The activities enable the student to revisit the text and understand what they have read. This is important for English Language Learners who are often able to decode English at a more sophisticated level than they can comprehend. |
